Nigerian singer Naira Marley has sparked a heated debate on social media after he called out Muslims who fast during Ramadan but still engage in betting on football.

In a post on his Instagram page, Naira Marley questioned the hypocrisy of fasting while still indulging in betting. “You’re fasting and still betting on football? Go and eat, please,” he wrote.
The singer’s post generated a lot of reactions from his followers, with some agreeing with him and others defending the practice of betting during Ramadan.
Naira Marley’s post comes after he was recently cleared by a magistrate court in Lagos of any involvement in the death of his former signee, Mohbad.
