Ngozi Nwosu, a veteran Nollywood actress, has expressed her displeasure with the formulaic quality of Nollywood movies.
Ngozi mentioned in an interview with Pulse how many people who shouldn’t be producing movies are doing so these days. She claims that a lot of today’s films are too idealistic and therefore unrelatable.
She demonstrated how many people have gotten apathetic and prefer to pursue financial gain over conducting additional research before producing a film.
She emphasized that the days of relating to Nollywood movies are long gone. She observed that whereas everyone used to be cautious about how they portrayed themselves back then, everyone now does anything they want. It is acceptable to dress nude and not worry about what others may think, she continued.
Many individuals who ought not to be producers are presently doing so. Every day, wishy-washy stories. Certain stories you read instantly identify them as coming from foreign motion pictures.
They are not comprehensible. People are now sluggish. They want the money, so they don’t want to perform any more research. We can’t relate to each other the way we once could. You can’t do that today because you don’t know who to trust. In the past, we used to go to the residences of our fellow actors and drink water. Every leaf is on its side, but which one is the one experiencing pain in the stomach?
