In response to Afrobeats artist Davido’s recent remarks regarding Nigeria’s faltering economy, Nollywood veteran Kanayo O. Kanayo has expressed support for the singing artist.
Using Nigeria’s terrible economic situation as an example, Davido cautioned African Americans against moving to Africa in a contentious interview. Since the interview, the statement has sparked a huge response that has become stronger every day.
In a video posted to Instagram from the UK, Kanayo pleaded with Nigerians to uphold Davido’s right to free speech.
The actor brushed off demands for Davido to issue an apology, highlighting the singer’s intention to support common Nigerians in spite of his millionaire status.
