A Nigerian family insisted on a whopping N1 million bride price for their daughter’s hand in marriage. The groom’s family was taken aback by the exorbitant demand, leading to a heated argument that ultimately resulted in the cancellation of the wedding plans.

The incident, which was captured on video and shared on Instagram, showcases the intense disagreement between the two families. The groom’s family member recording the video expressed his outrage and frustration, stating that they had no intention of proceeding with the marriage due to the unreasonable bride price.
“We are not marrying again. We wanted to marry a lady in Mbaise, Imo state, and they insisted that we pay N1 million bride price. N1 million? We are not marrying again,” he exclaimed.
The video sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with many Nigerians sharing their opinions on the matter. While some argued that the bride price is a traditional requirement in Nigerian cultures, others deemed it an outdated and excessive practice.
