A student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has been expelled from the institution for assaulting her lecturer. The student, identified as Precious Mbakwe, was found guilty of gross misconduct and violation of the university’s disciplinary regulations.

According to reports, Mbakwe had assaulted her lecturer for interrupting her TikTok live video. The incident sparked outrage, and the university’s management took swift action to address the matter.
The university’s disciplinary committee convened to investigate the incident and recommended Mbakwe’s expulsion. The Ag. Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the University Senate, approved the recommendation, and Mbakwe was subsequently expelled from the university.
The expulsion takes immediate effect, and Mbakwe is expected to vacate the university premises immediately. She is also required to return any university property in her possession.
The university’s decision to expel Mbakwe serves as a reminder that violence and misconduct will not be tolerated in the institution. It also highlights the importance of respecting authority and maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.
Mbakwe’s actions have sparked a heated debate on social media, with many calling for stricter punishments for students who engage in violent behavior. Others have expressed sympathy for Mbakwe, arguing that she deserves a second chance.
