A new video has surfaced in the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged assault of a lecturer by a female student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK). The clip, shared by a Facebook user, appears to show the lecturer, Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, holding onto the student’s dress during the altercation.

The video has sparked heated debate on social media, with many criticizing the lecturer’s behavior as unacceptable and potentially harassing. The student, Precious Mbakwe, was expelled from the university following the incident, but some are now questioning whether the lecturer’s actions contributed to the altercation.
The Facebook user who shared the video argued that the lecturer’s behavior was tantamount to sexual harassment, stating, “No matter the provocation, why will a lecturer hold on to a student’s dress like this?”
The video has elicited mixed reactions from social media users, with some supporting the lecturer and others condemning his actions. While some have argued that the student was at fault for allegedly assaulting the lecturer, others believe that the lecturer’s behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional.

Precious Ogbodo wrote: “Only bad eggs they will be supporting yeye people. If they see honest hard working and intelligent student looking for scholarship they will never help the person.”
Fanen Exodus commented: “Has the university written officially to her that all they need from her is apology. Mind you, the court of competent jurisdiction does not consider mere hearsay. Her expulsion was officially written. It can be held in court against her. Any change in decision that the court will honor must also be official.”
Irene said: “You are not serious, so you supporting insolence? I have to fight and tear my lecturer’s clothes to make a point and for people like you to sponsor me abroad? There’s nothing like harassment, the student in question is an arrogant, disrespectful spoilt girl. From what I hear, the mother is a lecturer in the same school, so she must have believed she could get away with anything. Rubbish, she deserves that penalty.”
Margaret said: “So, because I touch you. You bite me. Omo, I will slap nonsense out of you. I hope she goes abroad and fight.”
