Warn All your children not to protest in Lagos, let my father rule for 3 years before you complain” – tinubu daughter Folasade Tinubu-Ojo Looses her coolness to market women
Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu, urged market women at Dosumu Market, Lagos, to advise their children against joining the August 1 protest against economic hardship.
“Say no to protest,” Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja General of Lagos, stated in a video, urging the market women to caution their children against participating in the protests.
In the video, she remarked, “Let’s talk to our children. There is nothing like protest in Lagos. The Lagos government is treating us well. The central government, led by my father, has just assumed office. Before judging a government’s performance, it should be given at least three years.”
Tinubu-Ojo expressed concern over how the EndSARS protest, which was initially against extrajudicial killings and police brutality by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), turned violent after thugs attacked protesters and soldiers opened fire on them.
“Prevention is better than treatment. We will not suffer loss of lives. Let everyone warn her children,” she cautioned.
Her remarks align with other pro-Tinubu government efforts as citizens prepare for nationwide demonstrations prompted by escalating economic hardship and rising food prices.
Following the protest announcement, President Tinubu met with religious leaders, traditional rulers, governors, and security agencies. After these meetings, religious leaders and monarchs also opposed the protests, while security agencies arrested those supporting or organizing the activities.
