Auwal Dankode, an employee of Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO), was recently honoured by the company for his honesty after discovering and returning $10,000 while cleaning an aircraft in Kano. According to a statement released on Saturday, Dankode was invited to NAHCO’s headquarters at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, where he was praised for his integrity and awarded a cash reward, a promotion, and the title of NAHCO Brand Ambassador.
Dankode found the money on an Egypt Air flight at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, on seat No. 25H, and immediately handed it over to the airline’s Station Manager. NAHCO’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Indranil Gupta, commended Dankode for embodying the company’s values of honesty, integrity, and diligence. Gupta expressed pride in Dankode’s actions, noting that he exemplified the qualities NAHCO instils in its employees.
The company’s Chief Financial Officer, Adeoye Emiloju, also lauded Dankode for his display of integrity, highlighting that such values are inherent and cannot be feigned. Additionally, the Chief Operating Officer, Didier Steullet, encouraged Dankode to remain grounded and continue on his path of integrity despite the attention he has received. Group Executive Director, Dr. Sola Obabori, acknowledged Dankode’s actions as a source of pride not just for NAHCO but for the country as a whole, especially in a time when the value of a dollar is significant.
As NAHCO’s Brand Ambassador, Dankode will represent the company at major events across Nigeria, promoting its brand and interacting with top officials and stakeholders.
