Supporters of the controversial Nigerian singer Portable have applauded him for taking action to repair a road in Sango-Ota.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, Portable is seen bringing in a tractor to fix the damaged road. He explained that he was motivated to do this because he plans to purchase a new car, which he referred to as a “presidential motor.” The singer expressed concern that the poor road conditions in Nigeria could damage his imported car, which would be difficult to repair locally due to the unavailability of suitable mechanics.
Portable mentioned that his financial capability allowed him to undertake the road repair. He also shared that he had previously been involved in similar efforts, particularly after buying his G-Wagon, but had stopped for undisclosed reasons.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining the road to protect his vehicle, saying, “I have graded the road. My American motor mustn’t spoil because its mechanic isn’t available in Nigeria. If it spoils, who will repair it? It is a bad thing for Nigerian roads to spoil American motors. That’s why I have graded the road; I and others are doing it.
It’s because I have money; that’s why I can repair the road. Although I used to repair the roads, I stopped. When I bought my G-wagon, I stopped. Now, I want to buy a presidential motor, and I have to repair the road.”
