Temitope Ayeobasan, a 21-year-old Nigerian scholar, has made history by becoming the first student to graduate with a first-class degree in History and International Relations from Lagos State University (LASU) in 40 years.
Despite initially hesitating to study the subject, Temitope fell in love with History and excelled through dedication and hard work. Her remarkable achievement was praised by Professor Adeyeri Olusegun, Head of the department, who noted that Temitope’s resilience and academic prowess earned her this distinction.
Temitope credits her success to a passion for the subject, thorough note-taking, reading ahead, and supportive friendships. Her milestone marks a significant achievement for LASU’s History and International Relations department, established in 1984, and serves as an inspiration to future generations of scholars.
