This move came after some social media users criticized him, accusing him of trying to gain attention. In response, Slimcase humorously explained, “If Wizkid can tattoo Fela on his chest, who am I not to tattoo Big Wiz on my chest?” He seemed unbothered by the criticism, embracing the gesture as a sign of admiration for Wizkid’s massive influence.
Slimcase has previously discussed his relationship with Wizkid, stating that they were close at one point but drifted apart as Wizkid’s career skyrocketed. He clarified that Wizkid did not cut him off; rather, their distance resulted from Slimcase not keeping pace with Wizkid’s rapid rise to fame.
This tattoo appears to be Slimcase’s way of paying homage to the Afrobeats superstar, much like how Wizkid honors Fela Kuti, a pioneer of Afrobeat.
