A Nigerian woman has shared her frustration on social media after a burglar broke into her home and, in addition to stealing, indulged in her freshly cooked Egusi soup (a traditional Nigerian dish made from melon seeds) and fried rice.
The incident, which has sparked a mix of amusement and outrage online, gained attention after the woman posted a video showing her reaction upon returning to her home.
In the video, she explained that the break-in occurred while she and her family were attending church. Expecting the usual theft of valuables such as electronics or cash, she was shocked to find that the thief had also raided her kitchen.
To her surprise, the intruder had consumed an entire pot of Egusi soup and fried rice, leaving behind the mess but no significant valuables.
The video has since gone viral, with many social media users commenting on the unusual nature of the crime and the woman’s reaction to the situation.
