A popular Italian luxury shopping brand, T20luxury, has taken to social media to call out Nigerian comedian AY Makun for wearing a fake Hermes bag.

The brand shared a post on Instagram, addressing AY and expressing their disappointment in him for supporting the counterfeit fashion industry. They noted that as a key stakeholder in the entertainment industry, AY should uphold authenticity and preserve his reputation as a leader within the black community.
The post read: “Dear AY, as a key stakeholder in the entertainment industry and a beneficiary of genuine creativity, it is more important to refrain from supporting the counterfeit fashion industry. Upholding authenticity is important to preserving our reputation as leaders within the Black community.”
While some people agreed with the brand’s stance, others defended AY, suggesting that he may have been unaware that the bag was fake or that it was supplied to him by his personal shopper.
