Nollywood veteran Ngozi Nwosu recently disclosed that she cancelled her wedding only two days before the event.
In an appearance on the ‘Talk To B’ podcast with Biola Bayo, Nwosu shared that the decision was prompted by her fiancé’s abusive behavior.
She highlighted that while she might be willing to overlook infidelity, physical abuse was an absolute dealbreaker for her.
Ngozi Nwosu recounted experiencing physical assault from her ex-partner during her pregnancy, which compelled her to prioritize her safety and career.
She stated:
“For me, infidelity isn’t enough for you to let go of your man. But, if it’s battery, I advise any woman to, in fact, not take any of their property and run for your life because they will never stop. Once a man lifts his hand on you, he won’t stop.
“I called off my wedding two days before because that day, he gave me the beating of my life. I was pregnant then, and I was like, is this what I’m entering? Because he has never done it before.”
On the same podcast, Ngozi Nwosu shared a story about being slapped in public over a movie role.
She explained that the incident took place at Lawanson bus stop during a financially challenging period for her.
A man approached her, slapped her, and insulted her based on her character’s actions in a film.
He appeared to believe that she was genuinely “wicked” and a “killer” due to her on-screen portrayal. Nwosu described feeling dazed and shocked by the experience, which made her more vigilant and aware of her surroundings.
