Simi Oluwaseyi, the sister of Naomi, the estranged wife of the Ooni of Ife, has provided an update on her sister’s arrest and detention. Naomi was taken into custody in connection with a tragic stampede in Ibadan that resulted in the loss of 35 lives.
In a series of Instagram posts, Simi expressed her condolences to the families of the deceased children and shared concerns about her sister’s health. According to Simi, Naomi collapsed during interrogation by the Department of State Services (DSS) on the third day of her detention and was rushed to the hospital.
Furthermore, Simi revealed that before Naomi’s court arraignment, a doctor confirmed that her blood pressure was alarmingly high. Simi also stated that her sister had no access to her phone or family during her detention.
Part of Simi’s post reads: “I deeply sympathize with the families of the children who lost their lives… My sister was arrested and detained for over six days, collapsing on the third day of interrogation by the DSS and being rushed to the hospital.”
