Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Uganda’s president, Yoweri Museveni, has sparked conversation online with his bold remarks about popular Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr.
Ayra Starr, a Mavin Records artist, had an unforgettable performance at the 27th Blankets and Wine festival in July 2024, sharing the stage with South Africa’s renowned duo, Blaq Diamond.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Muhoozi referenced advice from his late grandfather, claiming it gave him the freedom to pursue any woman he desires. He went on to state his intention to “capture” Ayra Starr.
His post read: “My late grandfather, Mzee Amos, told me I could go after any woman in the world. I will capture that girl, Ayra Starr.”
The statement quickly went viral, with many social media users reacting to his audacious claim.
Here are some reactions:
Patrick Peter: “You’ll need to send your country’s GDP for four years to win her over 😂😂😂.”
Lucky John: “We secret admirers couldn’t get her, so we’re ready to become your in-laws 🤣🤣🤣.”
Ogbedie Prince: “Ayra Starr is wealthier than the entire Uganda, including the presidency. Better look elsewhere!”
Wisdom Hikims: “Uganda’s currency? My guy took ₦2,000,000 there and became the richest man alive 😂😂.”
