Nigerian artist Simi has shared how having her daughter Adejare has changed her views on motherhood.
The award-winning musician revealed that she used to rely a lot on several nannies on a recent episode of The Roadshow on Cool FM, but that idea has since evolved since she became a mother.
“Before I had my daughter, I used to say that I would have five nannies and my nanny would have a nanny; that’s not the case,” Simi, who welcomed Adejare in 2020, acknowledged.
Looking back on her path, she disclosed that she now approaches parenting with a lot more involvement.
“At the time, I was so sure that I would have two nannies, and those nannies would have nannies, and their nannies would have nannies too.”
Knowing myself, though, I really shouldn’t have entertained such notion.” Simi talked about being a mother and alluded to endeavors beyond her music career. In response to a question about any new interests or abilities, she mentioned her goal of writing a novel.
I’m attempting to write a novel. I used to say that I would probably be a novelist if I weren’t an artist. Perhaps a little romance.
A hint of mystery and fantasy, she added. Simi indicated her desire to work on a children’s project as well because she thought there was a need in the market.
