Miss Universe Nigeria Mitchel Ihezue is preparing to pass on her crown, as she announced on her Instagram account. She revealed that the official handover will take place on August 31, 2024.
Reflecting on her time as Miss Universe 2023, Ihezue shared that the memories and pride of representing Nigeria will stay with her always.
She wrote:
On August 31st, I’ll be passing my crown, but the memories and pride of representing my country as Miss Universe 2023 will stay with me forever.”
In her farewell message, she expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to making her reign unforgettable.
She also acknowledged the opportunities her time as Miss Universe brought her, emphasizing that she was honored to experience this privilege twice.
Mitchel Ihezue concluded:

Mitchel Ihezue clinched the Miss Universe Nigeria crown on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, outperforming 36 other talented contestants.
She went on to represent Nigeria at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador on November 18, 2023.
In mid-July, Ihezue made headlines again with her lavish marriage to billionaire Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu. The spotlight was on her once more when her husband presented her with a new luxury car variant, adding to the opulent vehicle she had received as a wedding gift months earlier.
