Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has finally spoken out about her lawsuit against her former label boss and music producer, Eezee Conceptz.
In a lengthy statement posted on her Instagram page, Chinwo shared her side of the story, revealing the toxic relationship she endured with Eezee Conceptz.
According to Chinwo, her journey with Eezee Conceptz began when she was a background singer for the music producer. Over time, she became his client, and their professional relationship seemed to be going well. However, things took a turn for the worse in 2019 when Eezee Conceptz expressed his desire for Chinwo to extend her five-year contract to twelve years. Chinwo declined, stating that she had other plans.
Chinwo alleged that Eezee Conceptz became hostile and aggressive towards her after she refused to extend the contract. He would often make reference to the contract and use threatening language, saying things like, “I will deal with you, I will mess you up, I made you who you are, I can shut you up, and nobody will hear you again, and I will destroy your career.”
Chinwo claimed that the relationship became increasingly toxic, with Eezee Conceptz intimidating, isolating, and bullying her. He would also mislead people about her availability for events, causing her unnecessary stress and harm.
Chinwo emphasized that her lawsuit against Eezee Conceptz is not about demanding her music catalog but rather about seeking justice and transparency. She wants Eezee Conceptz to release the first three pages and the execution page of the contract she signed in 2017, which she alleges he altered.
Chinwo concluded her statement by expressing her gratitude to her supporters and thanking God for sustaining her through the ordeal. She used the hashtags #TheTruthMustPrevail and #Justice to emphasize her commitment to seeking truth and justice in the matter.
