Nicki Minaj, the popular American rapper whose real name is Onika Tanyan Maraj, has been learning some Nigerian Pidgin English phrases.
In a recent video, she tried to sing “Sabi Girl,” a track by Nigerian artist Ayra Starr, whose real name is Oyinkansola Aderingbibe.
She found the Pidgin parts of the song a bit tricky and humorously commented in Pidgin that Nigeria wouldn’t get the better of her.
The video, shared on X by @Olamide0fficial, shows Nicki pausing as she spoke the phrases, sparking conversations among fans of both her and Ayra Starr. Nicki mentioned she was following the Pidgin phrases from her timeline.
