Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, better known as Blaqbonez, recently discussed his music career and vast discography.
He acknowledged that while he might not be the most successful artist in Nigeria, he has consistently produced a significant amount of music over the years.
Blaqbonez credited his extensive catalog to his practice of releasing new songs weekly in recent years.
He pointed out that this strategy was crucial in advancing his career and solidifying his position as a rapper.
Blaqbonez also recounted his involvement in and victories at rap competitions throughout Nigeria, beginning in 2011.
He stressed that his relentless effort and commitment to music have been key to his achievements, even if they aren’t always apparent to others.
He stated:
“I used to drop music every week.
I have more music than every artiste that exists in Nigeria. I tell you for a fact.
“I’m not the most successful artist. I’m not bragging, but I’ve dropped more music. That’s how I build everything I built. Some people want to judge me based on what you can see, but the sh*t that you could not see, I was winning rap competitions all over Nigeria from 2011.”
