Social critic Verydarkman (VDM) has issued a tearful and sarcastic apology to gospel singer Mercy Chinwo following a N1.1 billion lawsuit filed against him.

The lawsuit, which was filed on March 3, stems from a series of Instagram posts by VDM, where he accused Chinwo of withholding earnings from her performances instead of remitting them to her former record label, owned by EeZee Tee.
Reacting to the lawsuit, VDM took to Instagram to list seven individuals who have taken legal action against him, lamenting that he cannot afford to fulfill all the financial demands.
In a surprising display of emotion, VDM broke down in tears while pleading with Mercy Chinwo to reduce the lawsuit amount to N5 million, which he claims he can afford.
“Una go kee me, the money wey dey inside the NGO sef no reach that amount. I know this case is not a case I can go on, so it is better I tender an apology. Mercy, don’t let the devil use you. I don’t have N1bn to pay in case you win. Abeg, I am not saying you should not sue, reduce the money, maybe to N5m,” he stated.
VDM even went as far as humorously singing some of Mercy Chinwo’s songs, in an apparent attempt to appeal to her emotions.
The apology has sparked mixed reactions from fans and followers, with some praising VDM for taking responsibility for his actions, while others have criticized him for being insincere.
