Wunmi Aloba, the wife of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has made a surprising U-turn regarding a DNA test for her son, Liam. After initially refusing to undergo the test, Wunmi has now agreed to proceed, one year after Mohbad’s passing.
In a recent video statement, Wunmi’s lawyer, Barrister Akingbolu, announced her decision, citing her desire to prove Liam’s paternity to her father-in-law, Mr. Joseph Aloba, and others who have doubted her son’s lineage.
Wunmi had previously stated that she would never agree to a DNA test, claiming that Mohbad was her first and only partner. However, according to Barrister Akingbolu, her initial hesitation stemmed from the intense pressure and criticism she faced following Mohbad’s death.
Akingbolu alleged that Mr. Aloba orchestrated a smear campaign against Wunmi and her son, using the media to manipulate public opinion. By agreeing to the DNA test without a court mandate, Wunmi aims to protect her son’s dignity and preserve her late husband’s legacy.
This development marks a significant shift in the ongoing paternity controversy surrounding Liam’s birth. The DNA test’s outcome is eagerly awaited, as it will bring closure and clarity to the situation.
