BoyPee, the rapidly emerging artist, has shared that Davido was included in the remix of his track “Ogechi” just the night before his wedding.
The remix, featuring Davido, dropped on June 25, aligning with his traditional wedding.
The original version of “Ogechi,” performed by BoyPee, Hyce, and Brown Joel, was released in May.
In a recent interview with HipTV, the trio revealed details about their collaboration with Davido on the track.
BoyPee shared that he got a call from Cubana Chief Priest, a close friend of Davido, who invited him and his team to meet with the artist, revealing that Davido wanted to see them.
BoyPee recounted that they went to the studio to record the remix of “Ogechi” while Davido was preparing for his wedding. “We mixed the track overnight and released it the next day.
Having Davido on the remix was unbelievable,” he said. BoyPee explained that Cubana Chief Priest called him via video chat, asking where he was. When BoyPee mentioned he was en route, Cubana told him that Davido wanted to speak with him.
Upon seeing Davido, BoyPee was so excited that he couldn’t focus on the conversation, only catching the part where Davido asked him to come to Cubana’s house.
“We had to hurry to meet him, and that’s how the remix came together. When we arrived at the house, Davido asked to be taken to the studio that night.
We finished mixing the track before morning and released it the following day. It was just before his wedding when we were in the studio. It all seemed like a divine plan,” BoyPee said.
