Honest Nigerian man, Anjola Femi, recently made headlines after returning $14,000 (approximately N21 million) mistakenly sent to him by a foreign cryptocurrency trader. Femi’s decision to return the money has captivated social media, especially after the trader, Rafael Alvi (@raffayalvi), publicly praised Femi for his honesty.
The Unexpected Windfall
The story began when Femi participated in a cryptocurrency giveaway organized by Rafael Alvi, a foreign trader. He initially won $100 worth of Solana. However, Alvi soon realized he had made a mistake, transferring $14,000 worth of Solana instead of $100 to Femi’s account.
Anjola Femi’s Honest Response
“My name is Anjola Femi, also known as Lucky on Twitter (@muchino67). I participated in a Solana giveaway from Rafael Alvi and was supposed to receive $100 worth of Solana. However, Alvi mistakenly sent 100 Solana, equivalent to $14,000, and requested that I return 90 Solana while keeping 10 Solana as a token of appreciation. I complied and sent back the 90 Solana,” Femi narrated.
Integrity and Faith
When asked about his decision to return the substantial amount, Femi explained, “I cannot keep the money because it is not mine. I am a child of God and believe that righteousness exalts a nation. I am thankful for Apostle Chris Onofua, the general overseer of the Kingdom Spread World Ministry, who has taught us the way of righteousness. I am very happy about what I did. He is happy, I am happy. I wanted to show the world that Nigerians still have people with integrity.”
Femi further shared, “I am a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, class of 2017, with a degree in chemical engineering. Thank you and God bless you all.”
