Veteran actor Uwaezuoke recently stirred controversy by asserting that having less than three wives as a man is a sin, a statement he justified with cultural, historical, and spiritual reasoning.
He argued that polygamy aligns with African traditions and reflects a man’s capacity to provide and protect, which he views as a divine mandate. Uwaezuoke cited biblical figures like Abraham, David, and Solomon, who had multiple wives, as examples of God’s blessing upon polygamous unions, claiming that monogamy is a foreign concept imposed by Western influences.
He speaks on his diolet as He further contended that having multiple wives helps address societal issues like infidelity, as it allows a man to channel his desires responsibly while giving more women the opportunity for marriage in societies where women often outnumber men.
