Influencer and fashion blogger Hafsah Mohammed, popularly known as Hafymo, recently expressed her frustration after discovering that her custom-made wedding dress was recreated for another high-profile wedding.
Hafsah, who spent $5,000 on the unique gown for her 2022 wedding, called out Nigerian fashion designer Deola Sagoe for remaking the design for Tayo, the wife of Nollywood star YhemoLee, during their wedding in August 2024.
While Hafymo and Tayo wore the same style, their gowns were made in different colors, but this did not lessen Hafsah’s disappointment.
Hafsah took to social media to voice her anger, stating that the dress was meant to be exclusive. She paid for a custom design, which typically means a one-of-a-kind piece not to be duplicated.
Reactions To Hafymo Claims
The incident sparked a lot of conversation online, with many agreeing that designers should honor custom-made agreements to preserve their uniqueness.
Some suggested that Hafsah had every right to feel upset after paying a significant amount for the dress【37†source】.
