Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has made an emotional plea to her fans, urging them to avoid piracy ahead of the release of her new movie, “Everybody Loves Jenifa.”
In a video shared on her Instagram page, Funke Akindele expressed her concerns about the high rate of piracy in the Nigerian film industry. She stated that recording videos at cinemas is a form of piracy and begged her fans to stop the practice.
Funke Akindele revealed that she had worked tirelessly on her new project, investing significant resources and effort. She appealed to her fans not to encourage piracy, warning that anyone caught promoting piracy would face the consequences.
The actress announced that security measures would be in place at cinemas to prevent piracy. She captioned the video: “SAY NO TO PIRACY!!!… Piracy is killing us!! I worked so hard on this project. Please, I’m pleading, do not be caught promoting piracy!!!”
