Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, via his Femi Otedola Foundation (FOF), has given N5 million to Sodiq Olayode’s family, who recently welcomed quadruplets.
This generous donation follows a wave of support from Nigerians, who together raised more than N19 million through online contributions.
The Olayode family’s story resonated deeply with many after their struggles were highlighted on social media by a colleague, Oyeniran James.
In July, James, known as @jamysax on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), revealed that his colleague, already a parent of two, unexpectedly welcomed quadruplets.
The father’s mention of using 105 diapers within just six days sparked significant empathy and a surge of donations.
On Monday, the Femi Otedola Foundation, recognized for its philanthropic efforts, awarded the Olayode family a cheque for N5 million.
James took to X (Twitter) to share the news, he wrote:
“Guyssssssssssssssssss, Guess what ???? ‘#realFemiOtedola sent representatives to offer a cheque of N5 million to the parents of the quadruplets and also offered scholarships for the education of two of their kids till University. I’m in tears, guys.’”
This generous donation follows a contribution of N2 million from Airtel Nigeria.
