A video interview with well-known Yoruba actor Femi Adebayo recounting his experience smacking his father Adebayo Salami, aka Oga Bello, on a film shoot sparked a number of reactions.
The Jagun Jagun hero talked about acting with his father and his experience as a guest on a show.
Femi Adebayo claims that the incident took place while he played a renowned armed robber in the 2008 blockbuster Taiwo Taiwo, directed by Funke Akindele, an actress and box office queen.
The actor said that he had broken into his father’s home and stolen something. When he arrived, he insisted on obtaining the money they had come for, but Oga Bello was unyielding.
According to Femi Adebayo, he inadvertently lifted his hand and touched his father’s face. The actor then expressed regret, saying that his performance was not part of the script.
In defense of himself, he said that he did the deed to enhance the film version of his infamous armed robber character.
However, following the incident, Femi Adebayo who had just prevailed in a piracy case admitted to apologizing to his father.
But instead of criticizing him, his father assured him that if he hadn’t smacked him, he would have gotten into trouble.
