Jenny McCarthy disclosed that while visiting Italy, she took a holy object from Pope Francis.
The 51-year-old TV personality, who grew up in a pious Catholic household, is said to have made the confession on Wednesday during an interview on the podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa,” according to Fox News.
“I gave my mother a cross that I stole from the Vatican,” the “Masked Singer” judge confessed to host Kelly Ripa.
My mother is saying, ‘This isn’t right.'” She continued. McCarthy went on to elaborate, stating that one of her girlfriends had stolen the cross while they were at the Pope’s Vatican City apartment rather than her “personally” taking it.
McCarthy went on to say that Linda, her mother, had saved the cross and that it is now prominently displayed in her house.
McCarthy remarked, “She still has it up on the wall, so I feel like it was in good hands.”
