Afrobeats sensation Asake has officially confirmed his departure from Olamide’s YBNL label. The news comes after speculation surrounding his exit from the label.
In his newly released music video for “Whine” featuring Ludmilla, Asake replaced the YBNL logo with his own, putting an end to the rumors. Recall that in December 2024, Asake removed YBNL from his Instagram bio and unfollowed Olamide and everyone else on the platform. His absence from Olamide’s concert in December 2024 further fueled the speculation.
Sources close to the situation reveal that Olamide amicably allowed Asake to terminate his contract and part ways with YBNL after an impressive two-year run. During his time at YBNL, Asake released three hit albums, sold out the 02 Arena twice, garnered billions of streams, and even earned a Grammy nomination.
