Nigerian singer Portable has sent a strong warning to his fans, urging them to stop comparing him to fellow artist Asake. In a video posted on Instagram, Portable declared that he doesn’t resemble Asake, but rather looks like American rapper Lil Wayne.
The controversy started when Asake debuted his new look, featuring face tattoos, which drew comparisons to Portable’s own tattooed face. However, Portable is having none of it, insisting that he’s the original and Asake is just a copycat.
In the video, Portable said, “Stop comparing me to Asake, I don’t look like him, I resemble Lil Wayne. Stop comparing me with all those overrated artistes. They are copycats, copying my style and doings.”
