Nollywood actress and producer Etinosa Idemudia has sparked a conversation on Twitter (X) about the value of comic actors in the film industry.
Idemudia questioned the notion that only actors who can cry are talented: “Filmmakers praise actors who cry effortlessly, but do you know how tough it is to make someone laugh? Every actor can cry, but not every actor can be comic.”
She emphasized the need to recognize and appreciate the skills of comic actors: “Give comic actors their credit! It’s time to acknowledge the difficulty and artistry involved in making audiences laugh.”
“Some Filmmakers, lol. It’s only when the actor is crying that the actor is deep. The actor is talented. Do you know how tough it is to make someone laugh? Do you know how deep that shit is? Every actor can cry, but not every actor can be comic. Give comic actors some credit df !”.
