A church denied a Nigerian photographer entry, citing his dreadlocks as the reason, despite him being hired to cover a wedding event.
The photographer, known as waywardbrown0, shared his frustrating experience on TikTok. He revealed that he had been hired to photograph a wedding but was denied entry because of his dreadlocks, even though he had dressed appropriately as advised.
In his post, he wrote:
“I was asked not to enter the church because of my hair. Guys, is this right?”
He captioned the video with the same sentiment:
“I was asked not to enter the church because of my hair. Guys, is this right?”
Comments on his post included:
Helleen said: “It’s not your fault; it’s the bride’s problem. She knows her church and its rules. She should have found a photographer who complies with that.”
Meg’s Cakes added: “If the bride doesn’t mind, they can use phones to video the church part. Gives you enough time to rest.”
Quilla commented: “I have a neighbor who is very funny but I love her sha.”
Gerald St James shared: “My parents attend that church… And I’m a photographer too o.”
