A Nigerian man recently visited a spa in Ibadan, where he received various services. When it was time to pay, he surprised the spa attendant by pulling out a large bag of coins worth N8,000.

The man, who identified himself as Odogwu Ten Five, claimed that the coins were the only money he had, and insisted that they were a legal tender. However, the spa attendant was not having it, and refused to accept the coins as payment.
A superior at the spa also emerged, reiterating that the company does not accept coins as payment. They insisted that Odogwu pay with paper currency or transfer the funds instead.
Odogwu took to social media to express his frustration, sharing a video of the incident. In the caption, he wrote: “Just when I thought it’s a day of pure pampering and serenity for me at a Spa in the city of Ibadan, but @citylux_spa felt it’s right to reject the Nigeria currency.”

Many social media users have reacted to the video, with some arguing that the spa attendant was wrong to refuse the coins, while others have defended the company’s policy.
