Nigerian Afrobeat artist Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has recently inaugurated the ‘Burna Boy Football Academy’ in Lagos. This groundbreaking initiative is designed to foster the growth of African football by providing a structured training program tailored to young athletes.
The academy is set to operate three days a week, with each session lasting two hours. Recently, videos showcasing the academy’s facilities and training sessions have surfaced online, delighting fans and sparking interest among the public.
In a viral video, young players are seen honing their skills on the field under the supervision of a coach, while another video captures the players reveling in Burna Boy’s music and celebrating after a productive training session.
The academy, according to its official website, is open to young football enthusiasts across two distinct age groups: junior boys aged 4-15 and senior boys aged 16-21. The training sessions are conducted at various locations, including Ikoyi, Surulere, Port Harcourt, and Abuja.
Burna Boy’s venture into the world of football is not just a passion project but a significant contribution to nurturing young talent across the continent.
