Actress Beverly Osu recently looked back on her 2013 stint on the Big Brother Africa reality show.
In a new interview with HIPTV, she expressed her gratitude for not securing the top prize.
Osu playfully mentioned that her mother was relieved she didn’t win the money, as she believed it might have led her down the wrong path.
She felt a sense of relief for not winning, noting that she might not have had the maturity to handle the prize money wisely back then.
She explained,
“I’m glad I didn’t win because, at that time, there was nothing I could have done that would have led to a win.”
She reflected, “While fans may have hoped for me to win, my mother was praying to God, saying, ‘If this child is going to win this money and go astray, as she has before, please don’t give it to her.’” She continued, “God’s timing is perfect, and I’m grateful that we’ve achieved more than that prize money. At the time, I might not have known how to use it effectively. I lacked the experience to make it truly meaningful. Now, I feel like I’m winning in life.”
Osu also expressed pride in the positive development of her life and career since then.
