Makeup artist Kexiah recently shared her experience of being asked to leave a wedding by the bride and event planner after staying beyond her scheduled time to film social media content.
Kexiah, owner of the luxury makeup and hair business “The Key Look,” explained that the incident occurred at a September wedding. She and her team had arrived to do the makeup for the bride and bridesmaids, but the situation changed after the makeup was completed. Later, she returned to capture footage of the wedding for her social media.
Excited about the potential content, Kexiah said, “I was eager to get some great shots and behind-the-scenes clips to share online.” She added, “I was going full makeup mode and filming everything.”
She claimed that the morning was lively, with everyone enjoying her presence. “People kept telling me to stay for the wedding because I brought so much energy,” she recalled. Kexiah said she was unsure when she would leave, as she had planned to continue filming.
However, while recording, she was approached by an assistant wedding planner who informed her that the couple wanted her to leave. “I didn’t understand what I had done wrong. I was really confused,” she said.
Expressing her surprise, Kexiah recounted how she thanked the couple for letting her be part of the day before making her exit. “It was so embarrassing and surreal,” she added. “I felt like I hadn’t done anything to upset anyone.”
