Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde has taken to social media to share her thoughts on the recent increase in the price of Nigeria’s international passport. The Federal Government announced the price hike as part of efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport, with the new charges set to take effect from September 1st, 2024.
Reacting to the news on Twitter (now known as X), Jemima expressed her frustration in a humorous way. She joked that she should have purchased 10 ten-year passports instead of waiting and worrying about when she would get married. She also shared her preference for the passport price increase over the hassle of changing her name after marriage.
Jemima’s lighthearted response has sparked a conversation on social media, with many relating to her sentiments and sharing their own thoughts on the passport price increase.
“Me that I should’ve done 10 years passport, I was doing what if I marry.
SMH.
I still choose this over the name change hassle sha”.
