Nigerian lady makes headlines as she gives birth to a boy after stealing moncker of having only girls
Zinny Uzoigwe shared the exciting news on Facebook, revealing that during her sister’s fourth pregnancy, someone made a hurtful comment implying she would only give birth to “the usual thing,” referring to another daughter. Despite the negativity, her sister delivered a baby boy, much to the delight of the family.
Zinny expressed her overwhelming joy, praising God and calling the baby boy by various endearing names. In her post, she wrote: “Gloire à dieu tout puissant. E choke ooooo. Jesus igweeeeeeeeeeeeee.
My Testimony is here to stay forever. I call him Obinigwe!!! Chukwuebuka!! Chukwuoma!! Omaama amasiamasi! Chukwu onye oluebube. Nwokeoma, Chidiutoooooo. Pls what do you call him?”
Reflecting on the societal pressures in their community, she shared how in some parts of Igbo culture, having only girls can be perceived as incomplete.
She noted that some people believe a family is not complete without a male child, and that her sister had also been subjected to such beliefs. However, the family stood strong in prayer, and their faith was rewarded with the birth of a son. Zinny excitedly declared: “IT’S A BEAUTIFUL BOUNCING BABY BOY GUYS!!!!” as she thanked God for answering their prayers.
The post serves as a powerful reminder of how faith, perseverance, and love can overcome societal pressures and negativity, with the family now celebrating the arrival of a long-awaited son.
