Hilda Dokubo, a political powerhouse and Nollywood actress, has allegedly been suspended from her position as a Labour Party (LP) member at her ward in Rivers State’s Asari Toru Local Government Area (LGA).
Now embroiled in an epic controversy, Hilda Dokubo, the influential chairman of the LP in Rivers, is facing serious consequences.
She is facing numerous serious charges, including financial wrongdoing, abuse of position, and flagrant violation of party rules, among other things, according to the Peoples Gazette.
Following an emergency meeting of the party’s ward executive committee on July 15, Dokubo was placed on suspension, a move that was confirmed on July 18 by the LP’s Asari Toru LGA executives.
A critical letter submitted to the LP chairman of Asari Toru LGA announced the suspension. According to reports, a number of ward officials, including the treasurer Emmanuel Ibamathe, secretary Lole Amacheer, and ward chairperson Ajalamonia Ibama, signed the letter, which reads like a litany of political troubles.
Osaki Dieypiriye, a women’s leader, and Osaki Dokubo, a press secretary, also signed the incendiary statement, lending even more credence to the charges.
In a show of determination, the ward executives stated that before deciding to suspend Dokubo, they had carefully and thoroughly looked into the accusations against her.
The party executives emphasized in their passionate statement that they will never waver in their commitment to upholding the Labour Party’s integrity and high ethical standards. They emphasized that nobody is beyond the law or the strict rules set forth by the party, no matter how powerful they may be.
