The wife of a mechanic from Calabar, who made headlines for leaving her husband and baby, has returned home. The mechanic, James, became the center of attention for his dedication to caring for their 7-month-old daughter, Blessing, all alone at his workshop.
James had shared his struggle, revealing that his wife had left due to mental health issues, leaving him to juggle parenting and work single-handedly. His story touched many hearts, leading to an outpouring of support from Nigerians, who collectively donated N285,000 to help him and Blessing.
Cornelius Ellah, Head of the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Cross River State, played a crucial role in spreading the word about James’ situation on social media. His updates revealed that James’ wife has now been safely returned to Calabar, thanks to her uncle who responded to the public appeal.
Ellah shared his joy in a recent post, noting that James’ wife had arrived back home from Akwa Ibom. Although she appeared calm and coherent during their meeting, Ellah mentioned that her mental health challenges remain. He advised James to seek professional help for her.

The return of James’ wife means that Blessing will have her mother back in her life, and James may no longer need to take her to work with him. This development brings hope for improved family dynamics and support for Blessing’s future.
Thank you to everyone who contributed and supported this touching story. Your generosity has made a significant difference in the lives of James, Blessing, and their reunited family.
