Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi has shared her personal struggle with hyperemesis gravidarum, a debilitating condition that causes extreme nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Her revelation comes after a pregnant woman, Jess Cronshaw, took her own life due to the severe symptoms of the condition.

Adesua Etomi expressed her frustration on Instagram, stating that people often don’t understand the severity of hyperemesis gravidarum. She appreciated her husband, Banky W, doctors, family, and friends for their support during her own struggle with the condition.
The actress emphasized that hyperemesis gravidarum is not just ordinary morning sickness, but a serious condition that affects one’s quality of life. She recalled her own experience with the condition, which included hospitalization and an emergency C-section.
“When I talk about the seriousness of hyperemesis gravidarum, people don’t get it and I hate it. I am grateful for my husband, my doctors, family and friends who rallied around me. It is not an ordinary morning sickness. It is a serious condition that literally affects the quality of your life.”
