Professor Okoye, the lecturer who was physically assaulted by a student, Precious Mbakwe, at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), has finally broken his silence on the incident.

In a recent podcast, Professor Okoye shared his thoughts on the controversy, describing it as one of the latest social media buzzworthy topics. He admitted that he is still trying to process the events surrounding the incident, which caught him off guard.
“I’m yet to fully process everything that happened,” Professor Okoye said. “As much as I really want to get into this gist, I’m quite careful to get into it.”
The incident, which was captured on video, showed Precious Mbakwe assaulting Professor Okoye for interrupting her dance video. The university management subsequently set up a disciplinary committee, which led to Mbakwe’s expulsion.
Social media users have been reacting to Professor Okoye’s podcast, with some criticizing him for granting interviews and others mocking him for taking so long to process the incident.
