The heartbreaking news was shared by Dr. Richard Chukwuezi, a colleague and friend of the deceased doctor. Dr. Richard took to social media to express his grief and frustration, sharing screenshots of his conversation with Dr. Joe, who had complained of a severe cough and chest pain.
Dr. Richard’s emotional post read: “Dr. Joe Madu, we’re all still in shock. Your country failed you, the health system you sacrificed your life for failed you too. We know you’re now in a place of rest. So sad to say, but rest in power, bro.”
