Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has been nominated for the 2025 BRIT Awards in the Best International Act category.
This nomination comes after a successful 2024, marked by the release of his third album, “Lungu Boy,” which featured collaborations with prominent artists such as Wizkid, Stormzy, Central Cee, and Ludmila.
Asake is the sole Nigerian artist nominated for this year’s BRIT Awards, making this a significant achievement for him and the African music scene. This is not his first nomination, as he was also recognized in 2024.
Asake’s music has gained global recognition, driven by his catchy beats and meaningful lyrics. He has built a loyal fanbase and has been praised for his contributions to the music industry.
However, Asake faces stiff competition in the Best International Act category, going up against global icons such as Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Benson Boone.
The BRIT Awards ceremony will take place on March 1, 2025, at the historic O2 Arena in London, with Jack Whitehall serving as the host.
