Nigerian singer Asake has clapped back at fans who criticized his new facial tattoos. The singer, who recently parted ways with Olamide’s YBNL, debuted his new look in a video that surfaced online, showcasing his upcoming song “Why Love.”
However, Asake’s new appearance sparked mixed reactions, with many social media users expressing their disapproval. Popular media personality Naijashimadun even went as far as to say that Asake’s time in the US had influenced him negatively, calling on the singer’s parents to intervene.
Meanwhile, critic Daniel Regha blasted Asake’s new look, saying his facial tattoos were “incredibly ugly” and “not marketable.” Regha even suggested that Asake’s decision to get tattoos might be a regrettable one.
But Asake isn’t having it. The singer took to Instagram to share new photos and a video featuring a mystery lady, previewing another upcoming song. Asake, who turned 30 on January 13, captioned the post “Lameda #BadBoy,” seemingly embracing his new image.
