Popular Nigerian influencer Enioluwa Adeoluwa recently took to his X handle to share his thoughts on the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s (RCCG) announcement of a 100-day fasting and prayer program.
During a church service, the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, announced that the fasting would commence on January 11, 2025, and end on April 21, 2025, with the first 30 days dedicated to prayers for the nation. Special provisions were made for the elderly, allowing those aged 70 to 80 to break their fast at 3 pm, while those above 80 could break theirs by 12 pm.
Enioluwa’s reaction came after some church members asked if he would participate in the 100-day fast. In disbelief,
he posted:
“They announced 100 days of fasting in church today, and people were asking me if I would join the fast. Like, hope I’ll join them to fast for 100 DAYS!!!”
His post quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions from his followers.
Some laughed at his response, highlighting his reputation as a foodie and doubting his ability to sustain such a long fast.
Others debated the seriousness of fasting, with some emphasizing its importance in Christian worship and urging Enioluwa to take his faith more seriously.
Meanwhile, many defended him, stating that fasting is a personal decision and should not be forced or expected of anyone.
The RCCG’s annual 100-day fasting program is designed to foster spiritual growth, healing, and breakthrough among believers. Participants are encouraged to seek God’s guidance and deepen their faith during the period.
Enioluwa, known for his relatable and humorous takes on life, continues to draw attention for his lighthearted approach to serious topics. His reaction has reignited conversations about the significance of fasting, the pressures of religious expectations, and the balance between faith and individuality.
