Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Rema has landed in India to headline the wedding of Anant Ambani, son of Asia’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of prominent pharmaceutical entrepreneurs Viren and Shaila Merchant.
The wedding, set to take place on July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai, promises to be a star-studded event with multiple high-profile performances.
Rema announced his arrival on Instagram, sharing a video of himself in an all-black outfit boarding a private jet. The video, set to his track ‘Azaman’ from his recent album ‘HEIS,’ featured an emoji of the Indian tricolour, symbolizing his excitement for the event.
Reports from the Hindustan Times reveal that Rema will earn a staggering $3 million for performing his international hit ‘Calm Down.’ This event has also drawn global artists like Canadian singer Justin Bieber, who reportedly received $10 million for his performance, and pop icon Rihanna, whose fee remains undisclosed.
The Ambani-Merchant wedding is not just a union of two influential families but a showcase of international entertainment, reflecting the grandeur and opulence associated with the Ambani name.
